the story

Eleven years after the events in Burma, Vietnam War veteran John Rambo lives in Bowie, Arizona on his deceased father’s horse ranch, which he runs with his old girlfriend Maria Beltran and granddaughter Gabriella. Gabriella tells Rambo that a friend of hers, Gisele, has found Gabriella’s biological father, Manuel, in Mexico. Rimbaud and Maria tell her not to go to Mexico, but Gabriela secretly drives to ask her why Manuel and her mother abandoned her years ago. Gisele leads Gabriella to Manuel’s apartment, where he tells her coldly that he never cared for Gabriella or her mother.

Gizelle takes a grieving Gabriella to a nearby club, where Gabriella is drugged and kidnapped by Mexican gang enforcers. Meanwhile, Maria Rambo informs about Gabriella’s disappearance in Mexico. Rambo rushes to Mexico and interrogates both Manuel and Gisele about Gabriella’s whereabouts. After being threatened by Rambo, Gisele reluctantly leads Rambo to the club where Gabriela was last seen, and Rambo confronts El Flaco, the man who last spoke to Gabriela. A mysterious woman, Carmen Delgado, removes Rambo while El Flaco leads him to the location of Gabriela. Immediately confronted by Rambo, he strikes and tags the cartel, led by brothers Hugo and Victor Martinez. They take his driver’s license with the location of Rambo’s farm and a picture of Gabriella, whom Victor recognizes. The cartel vowed to mistreat Gabriella further due to Rambo’s actions.
